Our Workshops for Years 7, 8 & 9
Year 7

'Friendships - sunshine and storms'

This workshop explores the values that form healthy and positive friendships and provides students with strategies for dealing with conflict within relationships.

Learning Objective:

Students will understand the difference between good and bad relationships and be able to recognise inappropriate ways of responding to conflict.

"We need to know this information."

Year 8

'What would you do to make people like you?'

This workshop encourages students to purposefully consider self-esteem - how to raise it and how it affects life decisions that we make. It explores the ways in which we are subject to peer pressure and provides strategies for resisting pressure. It includes a self-esteem building exercise.

Learning Objective:

Students will consider their personal boundaries and know how to verbalise these with a potential partner. They will know where to get support if their boundaries are broken.

Year 9

'What's mine is mine: Relationship Boundaries'

This workshop explores personal and legal boundaries within relationships and considers how to set and hold boundaries firmly. It encourages students to think about what their boundaries are and gives them solid information with which to make decisions.

Learning Objective:

Students will understand that their value lies in who they are and not what they can give people. It will help them consider how to say 'No' in the face of great pressure.
