The Dark Moon
A Mothers Account of Sexual Abuse
The Dark Moon is the story of how two parents tried to come to terms with the devastating reality when they discovered that their daughter had been abused. Their wish for a happy ending, a journey that might lead back to peace and forgiveness, became the imperative that drew Anne Maria to explore the deep shadow that had fallen across their lives. Using the symbolism of the Moon’s cycles and drawing on myth and other inspired writing the book contains many poignant, thought-provoking analogies that resonate with and express the huge pain and loss felt by anyone whose child’s innocence has been shattered. It captures the complex matrix of feelings and emotions very effectively and is a must for all practioners, parents of adolescents and anyone undertaking a journey of healing from this or other trauma. |
