Kumbaya my Lord, can I bend your ear.
My heart’s crying Lord and I need you near.
So many vices Lord, just trying to fill the hole,
That was left by the thief
Of the innocence of a young soul
And betrayed trust in a father role.
I need you so much now
To fulfil the original mould
And change my heart
In a way man can’t.
Pray, pour your living water on the barren landscape
Of my pain, desperation and heartache
So that I may bear fruit again,
Without having to bear the bitter taste
Of my life being rotten and thrown away.
So much potential going to waste.
I know you’re with me Lord
As this journey carries on.
Kumbaya my Lord, I want to fight on.
Kumbaya my Lord, pray, keep me strong
And I’ll dream about the day
When I see your face
Shining like the sun
