Tomorrow Came

The following are some words written by one of our clients, which is currently being set to music by Julie Palmer and Neil Haydock:-

Verse 1

Tomorrow came, I chose to wake
Wake up and live, and face the past
Such fear has chained my heart
And torn my hopes apart

Today, I’m rising up
I won’t go back
I will not watch my life burn out
I’ll push away despair
And let Your love live there

Chorus

I’ll sing in the freedom that is born in truth
And move with the rhythm that I’ve found in You
New melodies will be born as I rest in Your love

Verse 2

Tomorrow came, I found a place
To rest and pour my story out
I felt afraid to share
And lay my hatred bare

Today, I’m rising up
I’m stronger now
I know that I am not alone
I’ll push away the shame
And find I live again

(Chorus)

Bridge

And I will hear you, your fears be near you
Your mind restore you, your hurt I’ll feel it
Your shame it grieves me, your tears I’m near you
Your pain – restore you, your trust – rebuild you
I will hear you, and I will hear you
And I will hear you, Your trust rebuild you

(Chorus)

You come so broken, your wounds left open
I love to heal you, restore your beauty today, today

Featuring a reading of Isaiah 61:1-4:-

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
   instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
   instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
   a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated
